about
Quiet Quarters Inc.

Quiet Quarters Inc. is dedicated to providing safe, stable housing and supportive services for veterans experiencing homelessness. We serve veterans who are navigating the effects of trauma, PTSD, substance use, and the challenges of rebuilding their lives after service.

At Quiet Quarters, we believe that housing is the foundation for healing. Our program offers a structured, supportive environment where veterans can stabilize, recover, and begin the transition toward independent living.

We provide transitional housing combined with community-based support designed to meet veterans where they are. Through guidance, accountability, and peer connection, our residents are empowered to regain stability and rebuild their sense of purpose.

Quiet Quarters is more than housing; it is a place where veterans can:

  • Heal from trauma
  • Overcome substance use challenges
  • Develop life skills
  • Reconnect with community
  • Move forward with dignity and independence

A Road to Healing

“United in healing: Veterans supporting each other on their journey toward hope and recovery.”

Our Mission

To provide safe, stable housing for veterans as the foundation for healing from trauma, overcoming substance abuse, and rebuilding their lives within a supportive community that fosters personal growth and lasting transformation.

Our Story

Quiet Quarters was founded on years of experience in mental health, behavioral support, and recovery services, with a clear purpose: to provide veterans not just with housing, but with a place to heal, rebuild, and belong.

Quiet Quarters is deeply personal. Founder and CEO Cheryl Johnson-Cooper brings over 30 years of experience in mental health, substance abuse, and behavioral support, including work within the corrections system. Through her career, she has witnessed firsthand how trauma, lack of support, and untreated mental health challenges can impact an individual’s ability to rebuild their life. Her passion for helping others heal and transform their lives is the driving force behind Quiet Quarters.

Co-founder Karlos Cooper, a proud veteran, shared his personal experience of how the physical, emotional, and unseen wounds of service can follow veterans’ home often making the transition to civilian life feel like another battlefield. His voice and lived experience helped shape a program grounded in understanding, structure, and compassion.

Quiet Quarters was created out of deep respect for the sacrifices veterans have made and a commitment to stand beside them in their next chapter. Here, every veteran is met with dignity, respect, and the belief that their life still holds purpose and unlimited potential.

More than a housing program, Quiet Quarters is a community, one that provides safety, support, and the opportunity for transformation. It is a place where healing begins, lives are rebuilt, and veterans can once again feel at home.
